Czech Glass Earrings
Dainty Czech glass earrings made with a mixture of Czech glass beads called Rose Garden in shades of green, purple and red.
Each earring has three glass beads which have been made into beaded drops with sterling silver headpins. Two of the geometric shaped beads on each earring are attached to either end of a short length of sterling silver figure of eight chain, which is looped over the ear wire with one dangling slightly lower than the other. The third Czech glass bead, the focal flower bead has been slipped over the loop on the ear wire too.
There are two colours of these earrings available – The frosted green flowered pair, with green ovals and a purple square bed. The second pair of earrings has red flowers and dark red rectangle beads with frosted green teardrops at the end.
The glass beads are fairly small with the flower beads having an 7mm diameter, which give these earrings a delicate style. Perfect for teenagers and for ladies who prefer smaller earrings.
These earrings were fun to make, one of my passions are flowers and because I used a mixed pack of beads they were a challenge to match the beads so that each pair of earrings coordinated.
When I am making jewellery I often horrify my friend Terry by deciding that whatever I am working on isn’t quite right and chopping it up. The reason I have to cut it apart is that when I make jewellery I want it to be good quality and not fall apart at the drop of a hat. A design is never complete until I am happy with it but some finished pieces I like better than others. These Czech glass earrings I love because they are so pretty and graceful as they swing gently. The sterling silver chain accents the beads making them stand out beautifully.
