I sort of stole the idea of jewellery making from my Aunty who started creating pieces a while ago. I found it relaxing and a good way of channelling my creative side. It is also fun to be able to share ideas and combine my hobby with socialising as we often get together for a jewellery session and have a good chinwag at the same time.

My designs are very much inspired by the natural world; the elements and especially trees, hence the name of Dryad Designs. I tend to work with natural materials like gemstones and pearls and try to create designs that incorporate the natural properties of these crystals in order to be more than just jewellery.

For example, my chakra designs include a gemstone specially selected to correspond with each of the seven chakras (energy centres in the body). When worn, these pieces can aid the chakras to acheive balance. This, in turn can help to increase the distribution of vital energy (known as chi) required to keep the physical, etheral, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies replenished.
