Jade Properties

The English word jade (alternative spellings "jaid", "jadeite") is derived from the Spanish phrase meaning loin stone because of the belief that it cured ailments of the loins and kidneys. Jade is applied to two different stones Jadeite and Nephrite, made from two different metamorphic rocks that are made up from different silicate materials. Jade comes in several colours and is suggested as an alternative to silk as a gift for the 12th wedding anniversary.
